There are certain things you only do for family, and eating at the Max is one of those things. My husband's grandma suggested dinner here, and you just can't say "no" to grandma. I don't know much, but I do know that one can't expect much from a sports bar/casino inside of a Best Western in Montana. Playing it safe, I ordered French onion soup and a cobb salad - can't screw those up. Wrong! The French onion soup was so salty that it tasted like chewing on beef bouillon cubes, and the chicken on the cobb tasted like it had been sitting inside someone's refrigerator, uncovered, for two weeks. I was born and raised in Montana, and can appreciate greasy dive bar food, but this was a whole other level of terrible. My husband ordered a club sandwich, another "safe" choice. I physically gagged when I tasted it. It was oozing with an ungodly amount of mayo, and was served cold. Is it just me, or shouldn't at least certain elements of a club sandwich be warm? It tasted like a pre-made sandwich you pick up at the airport and then find in your suitcase the next day. Honestly, you are probably better off at the Applebee's down the street....
